Canella Hostal

In Autumn/Winter 2017, Canella embarked on the creation of a capsule collection of tops centered around the art of origami.

Following a brief excursion to Seoul, where Daphne assisted Canella in sourcing fabrics and trims, she was tasked with researching and developing various folding techniques to be incorporated into the designs.

Beginning with paper to facilitate the folding process, Daphne transitioned to calico after several trials, draping directly on a dress form to assess fabric stability and identify areas requiring reinforcement. Upon completion of this phase, she presented her findings to Canella while suggesting suitable placement options for her designs.

Additionally, Daphne played a pivotal role in developing the collection's patterns and provided training to Canella's team of tailors to execute the origami techniques for production.
